step by step... not much to it.
1. get some bare stock metal. Steel would probably be the best but expect to spend about $40, aluminum $15. Cut to 12" lengths
2. grind down any sharp edges.
3. measure and drill holes to mount the outriggers to the speakers
4. tap the outside holes so the spikes can screw into the outriggers
5. prep for paint
6. prime & paint
7. I put some cork on the top of the outriggers to go inbetween the outrigger and the speaker to help dampen any vibrations. The speaker is still secured to the outrigger by the metal bolts.
8. install :D

Perhaps you can post a closeup of the outriggers and also step by step instructions to make it. It will be helpful for others wanting to make it.

I figured a couple pictures were in order!
Preliminary listening seems that the highs aren't quite as open as previously (I was using 12x12" granite slabs under the speakers) so more listening tests are in order. The speakers are more sable, but I may look into 18x18" slabs :dizzy:

Alright, just to post incase anyone is wondering. They are M8 1.25. The smaller spikes on the ELT series are the same.
Lowes didn't have the single tap, but I only had standard tap/dies anyway so I picked up a metric tap & die set for $40, which wasn't bad since I had a $10 off coupon. I got home and drilled the holes, taped the end holes. The spikes thread through perfectly. Then went out on my porch and painted them since it was only 35 today. The outriggers are drying in the bathroom with the fan on... man I wish I had a garage!

The thread pitch seems to be 20, so it's something 20. My best guess is 5/16" 20, but that seems a little off. Any help?
Each spike is 1.75" long
Threads are M8 x 1.25

soloz2... I'm adding a little shot to an sls, so I've removed a spike & am looking at it. Is it as simple as measuring the distance between "peaks" of the thread? :scratchchin: If so, 5/16" is what I measure. Kinda unscientific, but there y'have it!
Good luck.
