Craig...could you give us specs on the 1300 amp. When will it be available? Would it be appropriate to power (2) 18.s's? Love overkill!:biglaugh:

Mike - a single MQ-600 is perfect for driving a pair of SS-18.2's. This package is one about which I am pretty enthused. A pair of 18.2's, the 600 and the Mini-DSP will be $2495.
I had looked into the Speakerpower option you mentioned - but think the 600 will allow better flexibility for less money.

Man, things sure do seem to jump around on this site! Makes it impossible to research where the latest specs where mentioned, or any past measurements were made. Was trying to find the performance curves showing the 18.2 and VS 18.1, finally gave up. The polar plots of the SHO-10's are another thing I gave up on too. Not to mention is the M-1 the older LCR, and I think it had another name, too? - and may get another name with the next woofer...
I know this started as a Speakerpower question, that changed into a "model 1300 amp" question (where did that thread come from?)
OK, I'm having a dizzy spell right now, have to go lay down - work is bad enough, but sometimes this place is as difficult.

Really interested in the Mini DSP...but have no idea how to use one. The extent of my subwoofer experience is finding the best position, setting all speakers to small in AVR, Xover 80 Hz...and adjusting sub level by ear. I hope Craig has instructions for the "slightly retarded"!

Information about the mini-DSP is listed in another thread. There is a lot of fractured information around here, and what most of us do is dig until we find what we're looking for, or we call Craig. :) Right now things are changing faster than he can comment online.

Guys - I got the sample Mini-DSP in today. It's pretty intuitive to use. After 10 minutes of set up, I dialed in a quasi LT curve on an SS-18.2 - the curve ended up being +/- 4 dB from 20 to 100 Hz.
In a typical room, this curve will be fairly flat to 10 Hz.
It's also a snap to download a measurement from your listening postion using REW and letting it do the work for you.
It's still much simpler to get a receiver with the proper Audyssey built in, but the MINI-DSP does what it is supposed to.
By the way - I am not exactly a wizard at operating computers. It's a pretty simple system.

This cannot be, it is common knowledge that your subs are impossible to properly EQ without a PHD in subwoofer setup and integration! ;)
