  • Emotiva mini-X a-100

Just saw this at Emotiva site:

Emotiva mini-X a-100 Stereo Flex Amp
    Link
    Price: $219
    Holiday Sale Price: $199
+ FREE shipping (within continental US)

Might be good for desktop or auxiliary systems.

    - Best-in-class design and sound quality. The mini-X a-100 shares the same superior, fully discrete design and high-quality parts as our big ampifiers, so it performs "like the big boys" and sounds far better than most amps in its price and power class.

    - 60 watts / channel @ 8 ohms ( 80 watts / channel @ 4 ohms) of stable, great sounding power - sufficient to drive most speakers to satisfying listening levels.

    - Flexible turn on. The a-100 can be configured to switch on when an external trigger is received or when it senses audio signal on its inputs. The a-100's Trigger Output can be used to control other components.

    - Front panel volume control - allows you to use the a-100 with fixed-level sources, or as a standalone "integrated" amplifier.

    - Heavy duty power supply with massive toroidal transformer – provides plenty of continuous power to drive even low efficiency speakers, and enough dynamic power to effortlessly reproduce musical peaks without strain or distortion.

    - Compact size and temperature activated forced air cooling allows the amp to be located almost anywhere.

    - Buffered loop output - allows you to endlessley daisy chain more amplifiers.
Full sized gold-plated 5-way binding posts make it easy to attach heavy guage wires, lugs, or banana plugs.

    - Front panel status indicator. The a-100's Volume knob is surrounded by an illuminated ring, which indicates both Power and Fault status while the position of the knob is highlighted by a pinpoint light on the knob itself.
User selectable AC line voltage; 115 VAC or 230 VAC.

I have a Emotiva UPA-2 with associated gear in one office area and a Gizmo in mine and other areas I've decked out.

Might be good to go with WAF's or SHO's, etc.

The replacement to the BPA-1 has been a long time coming. It looks really nice. But I suspect it will meet the same fate as our beloved Gizmo.

            $175.20 was $219.00 - Emotiva mini-X a-100

Just saw this on the Emotiva summer sale.
I'm still using the TCA Gizmo in a few locations, but was wondering what people thought of this?

            Any owners here?

              Emotiva's sweet-sounding $219 amplifier
Emotiva's stereo amp isn't very big, but the Mini-X a-100 is built like a miniature tank, and sounds very decent.
