  • Good place to buy speaker grill fabric/cloth?

Looked on parts express.. the cheaper variety, people have complained that it isn't really black.. more of a dark brown tint. And the more expensive "mellotone" variety, I'm not sure. Don't want it to be a lot different/thicker than what's already on my other Onix Rockets.

Anybody have any suggestions where to buy?

Also tried JoAnn's fabrics locally and they didn't have anything.

If you use amazon and type in speaker fabric it brings up a couple of different vendors to order from besides parts express.

Well yeah.. I guess what I'm asking is, are they all pretty much the same material-wise? I'm looking for what will match best.

I made grills for my Rocket 850's - used Parts express

260-335 Speaker Grill Cloth Black Yard 70" Wide $7.25
        329-045 Magnetic Grill Guides 0.395" Dia. x 0.2" H 8 Pcs.
        $4.88
        340-255 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive 24 fl. oz./16.75 oz. Net Wt.
        $11.95

I can send you some pics if you like of my 550 grills next
        to my 850 grills.
        Unfortunately,
I am colorblind and couldn't really see the "brown" in the fabric.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fabric though.
(But hated using the 3M spray - ughh)

PS> I could cut a swatch to send you also if you like -
but who knows if they keep the same mfg's or similar heat lots
of their fabric. bought mine in Jan/11

If you've got some pics handy, that would be great. But please don't go to any trouble in doing so...

I was going to say-you probably don't need enough to make it worth it, but the stuff from rosebrand.com that Brad H directed me too would work great-I think they actually call it speaker fabric.

Did my screen wall in it.

since I took the pics- you are seeing them -lol The smaller ones are
the 550's - the larger the 850's I made from Parts Express fabric

Here's a comparison pic between the the parts express cloth and the rosebrand speaker cloth, to show the color and texture difference (although the previous pics in the thread also show it):
