  • looking at the LG BD570 for Bluray, DLNA,netflix, vudu, pandora.

    Is there a better option?
I have an Oppo in our theater, but My wife wants a bluray player for the living room and craft room. Netflix and media playing are on the radar. Vudu is a real option as well for me.
Is there something better than the LG BD570 with DLNA support, Vudu, netflix, and Pandora? I've done a fair amount of research and ended up at this player, but I'm also not up on everything out there.

    Thanks,
    Clay

I just put a PS3 in my Theater which does all the above very well with BR being at the top of the list. I went the $199 route (120G slim) and bought a logitech RF/IR adapter and a Logitech wireless keyboard as well since it allows me to surf the web. For not much more than the 570 you could do this and get the addition of some gaming as well. It just might seem strange if you have to use the game controller for your wife to play BR discs if she's not tech saavy. The PS3 only has an app built in for Netflix, anything else must be done via internet bookmark. If you have a universal remote you could use it too with the adapter.
+1. Will be doing this down the road....

Vudu is via an app, as well, I believe.

I have a PS3 as well and VUDU works fine on it, but it's connected to the theater room.
Thanks for the insight guys. I think the 570 may be the best unit all around for her right now.

I have the older LG BD390. Wireless is broken.

The newer LG BD5xx have a better interface. I have the 590 and love it. Wireless works great.

There's a fairly new BD 590 for sale in the classifieds here.
