I just got this stereo preamp and all I can say is "WOW, just wow." It needs to break in before I can give it a serious evaluation, but right out of the box it is most impressive. One thing I love about it is the HT bypass. For those of us doing HT and 2 Channel with the same rig this really gives you the best of both worlds. In regular mode, it runs source to preamp to amp. In HT bypass, it runs source to processor to preamp imitating a straight wire to amp. One button push on the remote toggles between the two. "thumbsup:

Been enjoying my W4S STP SE for several months now and it brought about a significant improvement to my SQ and enjoyment of music.
The sound quality is excellent but the ease and flexibility of setup, one button HT bypass, and a very generous backplane full of input/output options makes this piece a home run.
Sounds excellent out of the box but break in truly reveals all of its potential.
Very highly recommended.

The idea that this thing is going to sound better after break in really has me stoked! Already something like a trumpet playing high and sustained has moved from "shrill" to "high, but clearly metallic." One piece that has always sounded like a portion of it had the old "record skip" sound recurring in it is now revealed to be a recurring drum stick strike. Now I have to go replay the entire CD collection. :whoopie:Randy

Joining the Wyred 4 Sound club:
Brand new STP-SE Pre and a used ST-1000 amp, sounds great now and I'm sure it will get better.
Best part is no more mono-blocks on top of down firing subs. What was I thinking?:scratchchin:2.1-Ch. Subsystem: SBTouch→NEKO D100→W4S-STP-SE→Bryston 10B-Sub Xover→W4S-ST-1000, LS 6, Anti-Mode 8033s, Submersive HP

I just hit 50 hours on the W4S STP-SE and it just keeps getting better. Dynamics and detail were strong right out of the box. The mid-range has gotten even better. I would like to hear your experience, Michael, as your gear breaks in. I am still considering a new two channel amp. :yes:Randy
