  • Statement DIY Mini's/Center/Monitor's

Does anyone have any experience with building or listening to the Statement Mini, Center or Monitor speakers? I am going to give it a go and build the center channel even though I have never built speakers before. I would love to have some impressions for anyone that has listen to them especially in contrast to my X Series speakers or even the Rockets or Swan Diva's. Any information about these speakers would be great.

I will in a few weeks. I just got a quote from Elemental Designs on a flat cut pack for a pair of mini-statements.

The quaility of components in the Statement builds is superior to all the aftermentioned lines, as long as the build is executed properly I think you'll have a product that is sonically superior.

Great idea to get ED to do the flatpack!

Aaron, I replied to your post over at HTGuide as well. I am looking at doing these same guys (sans the monitors though) for my secondary system. When are you planning on starting?

I am planning on the TriTrix "tower" and center for my dad. We have been talking the last week ever since seeing them in Affordable Audio. Once we get those under our belt, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be doing the Statement Mini's and Center. The 2RCC looks trick too and is a huge guy!

Keep us up to date, I'm really interested in this and like others have said, I think they'll blow your X's out of the water and be a huge upgrade just based off the components. There seems to be a great following for these guys so it seems like a pretty safe bet to build them site un-heard :D

Matt, how much did they quote you? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it.

I would really like to hear a pair. I wish the would list people that owned them and where they lived if they were willing to audition them for people looking to build them. I am thinking these or the Neo3s from Danny over at GR-Research as my next change out.

Hi Scott- I was on HTGuide last night and noticed your post but didn't get a chance to post. I have actually decided over the weekend to not build the Statements but I'm going to go with a different build instead. We were looking at moving HT room around in order to accommodate the Statements but it just isn’t going to work out. The new plan is to build the sealed versions of the Dayton RS WTMW Center and RS TMWW Mains. These should be pretty close match in performance to the Statements but are not as limited in placement options as the Statements are. I have read a few posts over at HTGuide directly comparing the WTMW Center to the Bigfoot and how it blows the Bigfoot out of the water (we’ll see if that’s the case). I still need to put a few tools together (aka borrow some them from my father-in-law) in order to start my build. The only part of the DIY thing I am unsure of is putting the XO together. I’m sure I’ll ask many questions to those who have built these and I’ll get it right the first time out. My hope is that these will pound my X Series speakers into the ground and will be as good if not better than the Rockets for half the cost of the Rockets.

I built a Dayton RS based center channel to replace my Bigfoot and it was a significant improvement. I used the ZDT 3.5 center channel plan found on the Zaph Audio website. It was a fairly easy build and I used a pre-fab piano black cabinet from Parts Express. It was totally worth it and now the center channel sounds the same from each of our 4 theater seats and it mates well sonically with my Rocket 850 sigs.

                    Best......Carlo.

                          $275 for the mini-statements.

I don't think I'm still going with them as of now. I want to try a couple cheaper options first. One being GR Research N2x (I'm on the demo list) and I'm also going to build a set of the Econowaves based on Zilch's plan at AudioKarma. I think they will pair nicely with my Tuba HT sub.
