My remodeled Onix demo room

I guess you can say that one man's trash is another man's treasure. OK, so it's not that drastic, but I turned one of my bedrooms into my Onix demo room. As most everyone knows by now, Art (arthurs) remodeled his fantastic 2-channel room and made it into (hard to believe) an even better room. Lucky for me, he didn't need many of his bass traps. So I inherited quite a few of them. And many thanks to Mike (LoudandClear), who used his truck to help me tow all this stuff back to my house.

I was able to utilize these bass traps and even turned some of them into my version of Art's diffusor/absorber.

Attached are shots of the room with the bass traps and a couple of absorber panels I made a while ago. I'll post pics of the room after I had finished the absorber/diffusor panels in the next post.

I've had the traps in there for a while now, along with my absorber panels (first post...red rectangles). The diffusers were newly added last night. I've not spent enough time with them to put my finger on the changes yet, but it is quite nice.

Before there were any treatments in the room, the sound was extremely bright and echoey (is that a word?) With just the red absorbent panels and bass traps, the sound was much improved. Brightness was descreased tremendously, as well as echoes. I plan to add some more bass traps, as Art is looking to throw away more stuff :D

I've only listened to a few songs after the diffusers were added, so I'll reserve judgment until I've listened to more songs, but I can say that they do improve the sound.

Thanks. Those are absorbers/diffusers. I don't think the surface contains entirely the right materials to be true diffusers, but the shape should suffice for my purpose.

Thanks, Scott. I will need to upgrade them to some Ninja stuff when I can appropriate some funds. The piano red is just too pretty.

Nhan. The room looks great. Did you install lighting on top of those round bass traps? The picture of cut in half ones mounted on the wall almost seem to have a glow from the top. Good idea on utilizing the sound absorbers.

Now get those minis in there and I'll stop by for a listen, especially if you ninjafied them. :biglaugh:
