  • Anyone heard Omegas?

Anyone heard the larger (6" and 8" driver) offerings from this company?

I was thinking that maybe the Super 8's with a pair of Deep Hemps would make a nice upgrade to my Minis (and finally get me into a nice 2-channel rig).

Ive heard that there are better single driver speakers available for the same price. Audiocircle has plenty of good reading on single driver offerings if you want to go that route. Personally, I'd go with a pair of Earl Geddes speakers....not SD, though. Other than that, Audiokinesis, SP Tech and GR Research are worth checking out.

Please travel over to the Audio Circle forum and search for information. There is a singe-driver thread/cirlce ->

And, Omega has their own thread/circle there ->

An AC member named Zybar (George), who IMHO has a good ear, presents some great comments and opinions. He had them for a while and made several posts about them. There are many other folks who made comments too.

Single driver speakers are a unique breed with their own set of strengths and compromises due to trying to reproduce as wide a bandwidth as physics will allow. Most folks love the way they reproduce the midrange, but then start picking at them for how they reproduce low and top frequencies. For many, this is the perfect speaker/sound but not my cup of tea.

Thanks, guys. :) I've been poking around AC reading up on stuff, and just figured I would post the question here, as I "know" a lot more of the folks on this forum than over there.

I'm still completely undecided on this. . . maybe I should take some friends/family's advice and start looking to buy a house instead. . . :D

The Ninja had a "one day sale" on the ELT525C Ninja Master upgrade and I went for it. Added No Rez and Sonicap Platinum bypasses on both woofer and tweeter circuits. . . should keep me out of trouble ($$$ :D) for a little while. . .
