Called the Guitammer Company today to see if they sell parts for their BKA1000-4A amplifier, my amp was out of warranty. They don't, but they did sell me another one.. with a little help from Benjamin Franklin. I wish these guys sold more products, their customer service is outstanding! Tech Support was "Johnny-on-the-spot" answering my e-mails.

Hmmm... buttkicker worth it? I have been intrigued a bit by the thought of getting them. What do you like/dislike about buttkickers? Were they worth the money? Would you recommend them to an audio frugalist like me? Are they bang for your buck? Are they easy to turn off if I'm watching when harry met sally?

I am interested too, as I am probably going to downgrade my sub. Not much point in having a kick ass sub that have to turn way down.

Don't think you would have to worry about when harry met sally not too much down low in that movie.

LOL;; yah man... I don't actually plan on rockin Harry met Sally, just a weird metaphor/example. Basically, is it going to be shaking my couch when it shouldn't be? Thats the question I should have posed.

This may/could be a really cool option for you Don, given your neighbor situation.

They do add another dimension to the HT. The trick is to balance the effect so it does not distract from the movie or the sound. I have the one's from Parts Express and love what it adds to the HT presentation.

Really great for movies, not so much for TV. It is intended for LFE and really does not produce base or gut punch w/ the transducers. Just adds more "I am there realism".
The amp will also go down to 2 Ohms @ around 2Kw. Some people use them for DIY subs, price point it is a bang for your buck on subs. It also automatically turns on like most subs. They just sent tracking info, "Surprise we want the old one back." Prepaid, and they never mentioned it before. Maybe they will get the old one back:dizzy:. I was going to attempt to fix it, but for what they charged, I would be stupid to pass up the latest version and a 1 year warranty.

BKs are very cool but you need to make sure that 1) You filter them low enough to not get a lot of junk vibration and 2) you have to make sure your entire seating structure AND your feet shake. If you just have it on a couch and your body is shaking but your feet aren't it isn't that much fun.

I find them terribly intrusive when listening to music (read do not ever do it) and pretty fun with movies IF you set them low enough not to rumble constantly.
