  • Need advice on stuborn Humm problem

The following is true, i have witnesses
    The problem:
A very nasty and loud humm from my speakers all channels as soon as the AV reciever is turned on. Any info greatly welcomed.
    I have:
Checked the electrical wiring all the way back to the main breaker box and grounding rod found nothing wrong.
Used cheater connectors no help used different electrical circuit no help turned off power to all other circuits in the house no help.
Checked the line from the cable, installed a isolater transformer from BJ cable no help, called out the guys from the cable they found nothing.
Did a complete change of connectors and speaker wire no help.
Bought a new line filter no help went without the line filter no help.
Removed the amps-dead quiet, Ahaa i said, so i hooked up the amps to my Pioneer 53Thx and Yamaha expecting for the amps to be the culpret and no humm. So i thought it must be the 9300 gone bad.
Removed the 9300 and replaced it with the Pioneer 53 THX no humm reconnected the amps and no humm Yessss i said.

    Now here is the kicker
Removed the 9300 to my spare room ran it with and without the amps and you guessed it no humm.
I have the Priest comming in on Tuesday.

    The AV receiver=Pioneer VSX-9300TX
The Amps= Carver A500X Thx driving mains
Carver TFM 35X THX driving surrounds
Parasound HCA 750A THx driving back surrounds
    The speakers= Klipsch F3s mains
    klipsch RF 52 surrounds
    Klipsch RF 52 back surrounds
The Pioneer drives the center channel= Acoustech HC85 center

In the room where the AV system hums, is everything plugged into the same outlet?

Is there a subwoofer in the main setup that is self powered?

no different circuits amps on one and line filter with reciever tv and disk player on another.
you thinking i need a circuit or two isolated form all other connections in house?
There are 2 M---t-r self powered subs.
could it have been that the pre outs on the reciever were some how
over loaded or at least could not handle the older Carver amps?

Try plugging everything in the system into one line strip. If different pieces of gear are plugged into different outlets then the possibility of a ground loop still exists causing hum.

A single outlet with a line strip to power everything in the system will show if this is the issue.
