  • Rear Surround Suggestions?

I currently have to JBL Sat 20's for my surrounds. They are left over from my first system. I now have Paradigm Studio 60's for my F/L, and the matching center channel. The Paradigm Studio surrounds are just too expensive. Asking for reasonable wall mountable surrounds, not book shelfs. I know that is subjective, so lets say $500.00 and under for the pair.

    :rocks:

    Thanks

A lot of people have been very happy with the Emotiva ERD-1's which are on sale now and include free shipping :)

I don't own those ERD's but I have heard them and I would second that recommendation. I think they would suit your needs nicely.

Yeah, I need to put that disclaimer on mine as well, I don't own them and actually haven't heard them before, just going off of the reports I've seen on various forums (including AV123's). Also, I don't work for Emotiva so I gain nothing by the reco except the gladness in my heart for helping out a fellow audio nerd

At least 3 people so far have suggested those to me. I posted on AVS also. I think if I decide to upgrade, that the ERD's will probably be the way I go.

          Thanks for the help. :huge::biglaugh:

Another recommendation for the emotiva's. My search for surrounds led me to them. Unfortunately my receiver can't pump the juice to 4 ohm's so I had pass.

Don't worry skeeter, I don't think anyone was about to start questioning your motives on that recommendation. Now, if you had recommended THESE for his rear surrounds, it may have been a different story... :neener:

I have a Denon 3808CI, would it have a problem driving these?

I ran 4ohm REF's off of my Denon 887 so I'd presume you will be fine. That's without me checking your specs, though.

I have the ERD-1s and have no problem recommending them. They have been a great match with my rockets.

Take a look at these from Axiom.

I had the Qs8s and they were wonderful. The QS4s get good marks as well. If you navigate around the Axiom site, you can get a pair from their outlet at 10% off. A little pricier than the ones mentioned above, but these guys are special.

Do the Axiom's come with the wall mounting plates?

                          Here ya go:

There are several mounting options for this easy-to place speakers. You can use the free included T-Bracket to flush-mount the QS8 on a wall. Alternatively, Axiom's Full Metal Bracket will let you tilt or swivel the QS8, for placement on angled wall or bulkhead. We also offer a Full Metal Ceiling Bracket so that you can hang the QS8s in the room. We also recommend the specially designed FMS QS that allows the bottom woofer to fire freely.

Sorry, I went online and found a picture of the plate. I thought that I read them coming with an adapter. Should of looked better before asking.

                            Thanks

I have the go ahead for the Axiom's SQ8's. Are they that much better than the ERD-1's? The ERD-1's are half the price. I would like to go ahead and order the Axiom's today, but I want to make sure they are worth it. Another words, if you could get either, which one would you get?

                              :poke:

                              Thanks
