  • idle subwoofer lineup banter

No need for anyone to get hot under the collar, this is just some idle subwoofer line up banter.

Since TCA and av123 are "affiliated" how does the sub lineup make sense?
We have got the MFW-15, the MFW-10 (scamp), and the MFW-18 (sasquatch).
What purpose do the x-sub MK II, x-plosive, and BMF serve?

Why not leverage the proven design of the MFW-15 and create a MFW-12 so that we have:
    MFW-10 (TCA)
    MFW-12 (AV123)
    MFW-15 (AV123)
    MFW-18 (TCA)

Seems like a killer lineup to me. :stirthepot:

DV - It's funny you came up with that line up. Whenever people ask me about Sasquatch and Scamp, I have used the MFW-18/15/10 analogy.

Is this a great minds think alike ... or a we are both morons moment ?

That would be a nice rounded offering of subs. I'll take this to MLS and get him working on it ASAP.

              And don't forget...

BMF & CC's mentioning of an even smaller sub (smaller than X-sub?) many moons ago:dizzy:

Well, that was really my point, given that av123 and TCA are value companies why all the varied designs and concomitant production costs when you could streamline production and get a fantastic subwoofer lineup by focusing on the MFW design?

I think a MFW-12 might get lost as a middle child, similar to the 760s. People on a budget might go for a 10 and the 15 is fairly affordable in its own right. Its hard to say imagine what performance the x-sub might serve vs. the scamp.

I think the x-plosive is an exciting design in its own right especially if it came reasonably priced. Who knows BMF vs MFW-18? And then there was talk at AV123 of reviving the UFWs with the new amps and performance. I like the idea of a sealed line and a ported line.
