  • Two Birds and Two Bugs

It has been a really long time since I have posted any shots. Given that it has been a little slow around here, I thought I would post a few. Hope you like.

#1: I kept waiting for that duck to go into an area where the water had nice fall colors, but it never did. The original shot had that "glare" on the water that resulted in it (the water) almost looking white.

The pic of the duck was too good to not use, so I applied 3 textures to the background and when through I ran the Oil Paint filter in Pixel Bender.

      Glad you like. Thanks.

AAA!! That 'splains it. I thought the duck looked more like a painting than a photograph. There was too much texture in the feathers.

#5. As you can see after comparing the original to the first one I posted, I am, by no means, a purist.

And here are a few more.

Nice shots as always, Mike. I tend to fall closer ot the "purist" line, so #1 isn't my exact cup of tea. #4 is probably my favorite.

Wow! just WOW! Artistically, I am awed by #2. In me, it evokes feelings of peace and calm.

I am also fond of #7, just because the preening is so cute.

                Really good stuff, Mike. :applause:

                  Thanks, guys, glad you like.

#2 is also my fav. One of these days I will get around to printing it large and hanging it. I also like the preening duck.

When I say that I am not a purist, I view my camera as my palette. I really do try to create artistic shots. I got really lucky with #2 (and #3). If I can, I like to play with shadows, light and angles. I still don't know what the heck I am doing sometimes, but sometimes I do get visions of what would look good.
