I just received my new Mits WD-73840 73" TV today and after setting it up, tweaking it some and just familiarizing myself with it, I eagerly popped in Cars 2 3d Bluray. My wife and I watched about 20 minutes of it with the Xpand X103 Universal active shutter glasses before we decided to quit. This was our first experience with 3D at home. Well, it wasn't what I expected, not ready to say it was bad yet but definitely different from the theaters with the passive 2 color glasses. My wife already had a mild headache so this experience did not help it any. I will try to watch it in it's entirety on my next day off.
I did see depth but it was not as smooth as a 2D movie, seemed a little choppy and when the scenes changed from one to another I could see the shutter closed on the glasses until the action started again and then it would open up.
I need feedback from other 3D viewers to see if all this is normal? Do I need to give it time and let my eyes adjust to this new technology? Is it normal to see the shutter activated?
I greatly would appreciate any input and will check back tomorrow after work.
