Kinda "sick" yesterday, my normal off day, so I took today off too - just to make sure!:eyebrows: So, sitting 'round - better weather, but needed a day with "toys". I built the "coat hanger" antenna and some 16-3 speaker cables.
I had "stuff" around the house and no money to spend, so this kept me busy....
Music on all day and a few "hot toddies" to knock this cold outta me.
The antenna: had some 12g copper for ground material. And of course everything else needed....
I'll take a pic tomorrow or Sunday - stupid me - batteries low for camera.
Took about 45 minutes to construct & hook up. Results - definitely better than rabbit ears!! This was more for the hell of it than anything else - I have cable.
But, on 2 stations, the pic is better than cable!! So, I may mount behind a poster or, better yet, open back panel!!! But, I will likely use this with the one TV we need a DTV box for....
The speaker cables were definetly "for the hell of it". Had a 40' ORANGE 16-3 cord I cut when mounting some outdoor floods (only in use when playing out back w/ Jake) But, it did clean up the wiring mess a bit. Made 3 - 8' cables w/ basic Lenexpo bananas. Crap!!! My heat shrink (blue BTW) was too small. Wanted to make my WDE cables!!! :raspberry: In time, and with "better" cable and bananas and spades. These bananas may stress in time on my X.... Did it make a difference??? Well, considering I'm
(WHERE THE HELL IS OUR DRUNK/DRINKING SMILIE???) a little toasty - YES IT DID!!!
But, maybe that's 'cause I've just spent the last 2 hours listening to music.....:huge:
Either way, it was fun and sumpin' to do to keep me occupied w/ this A/V addiction 'til WE HEAR SOMETHING NEW HERE!!!:snaggletooth:
Did I mention I'm a little toasty right now???:neener:
