  • Christmas past

I recall the Sears, and JCPenney catalog's getting to Grandma's house in advance of the Christmas shopping season when I was a kid. We all huddled around on the living room floor and plowed through the catalogs dreaming of what we might get.

On the morning show I listen to, they were talking about the Whirlybird toy from the 70's that I had. It got me to thinking, and once I got in the office I found this cool site, archiving great Christmas toys from the past. I still have the ABC Monday Night Football game that is right at the top. Just can't bring myself to toss it out!

That brings back some memories. Question - In the 70's, I had a black oval race track with banked turns and a lap counter. You charged up the cars, and then flipped a little switch and they absolutely flew around the racetrack. Does anyone know the name of these cars and/or track system?

        Sizzlers!

        I had that set too.

        These, right?

I had the "Silver Streak" set.

This shows they speed they had pretty good!
