  • Sound for my Daughter for Xmas!!

Well, she has been wanting me to get her started for some time.
I've gone 'round and 'round about what to do/where to start.
Ended up sending her my old AVR that was used in the bedroom and my pair of small Atlec Lansings I was using for rear surrounds. 7.1 was overkill in my room & she is "familiar" with using the old Pioneer I had. So, cleaned 'em up nice, packed 'em tight - used the boxes/packing from my HK AVR & 1 pair XLS & included necessary basic cables & speaker wire (pre-cut & marked for polarity for her)
She received Monday pm & I helped her connect everything via the phone.
Also included my old DIY stands & several comp CDs I made her.
A big package of Monoprice on the way + a JBL center RMassey had on the AV123 forums!!! It's just a piece-meal system, but it's a start!! She was very excited & loves it, knowing we're gonna build on it.
Man, how am I gonna feed my upgraditis when she's gonna start having it too?:snaggletooth:
This will make it easy for her(me) to wait on WAF & Scamp and give her time to get settled in a new place (current lease up in Feb & no way she can stay in the Apt she is in):snaggletooth:
She has called me every evening blasting the CDs I sent her and I can feel the
smile she has enjoying something "pops" really enjoys too!!

It's her first holiday season away from any family, but she has met several friends and has a boyfriend spending the day with her.
At least they've got some (decent) sound to enjoy the day! I miss her sooooooo much. Plan to surprise her on her B'day (late Feb) by flying down...:huge:

Easy, you HAVE to upgrade your system so you can pass along your "old" stuff. :)

Ahhh, I like the way you think!!! But, I'm not letting go of my XLS...ever...soon to be Ninja Elite Encores!!! (Ordering after the 1st)

I could get the WAFs for the bedroom & send her my Paradigms (they are sitting there idle - I "need" an AVR) Sooo, I get a new AVR for the XLS, HK drives WAFs. Once I go seperates, she gets the HK And so on...:scratchchin:
Yes, this could be an endless cycle of "recycling":jiggy:

Price, It's good to see another Dad getting his kids into the hobby.

I never would have guessed you were old enough to have a child living away from home.

        Cool stuff, my friend. :huge:
