  • Emotiva going away?

Not trying to stir anything up but I just went to their website and they're clearing out or discontinuing almost all of their products. Are they going away or just replacing their whole lineup?

    Anyway, just curious :)

Similar to what CHT is doing right now.

Is that a question or a comment? Like I said, not trying to stir a pot and I don't have any ax to grind against Emotiva I was just curious.

Skeeter - It looks to me like Emotiva is clearing out the current stuff in anticipation of the new line up. A lot of the current amps (XPA-1, XPA-1, etc ...) are at regular pricing.

In their case, the clearance is due to changing technology, while ours is to make room for the new OEM.

As Craig said, it looks like they are selling old gear to get ready for their new stuff.

There's about 6 products on sale/clearance, not all their products. Some of the prices are back to their introductory pricing - good deals can be had!

The only thing that I may have questions about is why the XDA-1. Didn't that just become available a few months ago? I read up a little bit on the UMC-1 and it's interesting what they are doing with it. They are not exactly calling it the UMC-2, but just said the release will support 3D.

About 18 months ago when I was replacing my AVR I looked into the Emotiva electronics for about an hour and there were so many bugs with the processor they got checked off the list.
Did they ever get the UMC-1 truly fixed ?

95% of the problems are fixed as I know of it.
