  • Camera Settings....

I thought I was good using this thing, but I might as well ask so I get it right...

I have a Canon Rebel XSi with the standard EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens. I also have an external Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash.

What settings would you recommend for taking pictures of my projector screen with images (like fitzwaddles thread)? His turned out nice and I want to show the upgrade in picture quality if possible with my purchase.

    Thanks guys!

Non-Edit Edit: Is it 110 degrees (+ humidity) everywhere else?

I used lowest ISO setting my camera can do (100), tripod, flash off, and the "P" (program I.e. Auto) mode. My screen shots ended up between 1/3 and 2 seconds exposure, depending on how bright the scene was. Also have to fiddle frame by frame on the movie to find a frame with little or no motion blur.

Sorry, I don't know anything about getting good screen shots, but no, it's not that hot everywhere. After a week or two of highs in the upper 90's and crazy humidity the "cool" weather we've had in Atlanta the last few days has felt like fall. It's been awesome. Currently partly cloudy and 83. :)

No help with cameras (my point & shoot is smarter than I am) or the weather.

          Local forecast.

          Sunday - 99 degrees
          Monday - 99
          Tuesday - 101
          Wednesday - 100...

Set up your tripod at eye level (seated) and in the middle of the screen. Be sure to fill the frame with the screen shot. Do not shoot at an angle. That will produce a distorted view of your screen.

Thanks guys. I have no idea why I even listed a flash, WHY would you do that?

I'll try this as soon as I get the rest of the chief mount stuff I need to set it up..end of next week.

I used the same lens you mentioned, on a Canon Digital Rebel XT.
