This story has been making the rounds - much ado about nothing it seems to be. The original BBC article had appended at the end a statement from the police saying that they law only restricts clothing which covers your face. So there was no "legal battle" won here; he wanted to wear somthing stupid on his head and the law allows it.

The church of the flying spaghetti monster is funny stuff. I read some of that stuff (and related fsm websites) a couple of years ago. I'm actually a religious guy but my sense of humor remains intact. I think my favorite is the WWFSMD bracelets.
