Oakley Watches?

I remember reading a thread here about an interest in good timepieces... Anyone familiar with Oakley watches?

I probably won't buy, but if Oakley does make good watches, they have their Crankcase Unobtanium watches for $199 right now. The MSRP was $800+, but I'm not sure if they made them inflated.

I am very familiar with Oakley watches ... but not so much of a watch enthusiast to provide you great details on quality comparisons. I've been an Oakley fanatic for about 20 years now, and have about 14 of their watches.

The $200 for those watches on the Vault website are a great deal (I snagged that watch on similar sale around xmas time). The MSRP listed is the actual MSRP - not inflated artificially.

I will say, though, that for your average consumer - it is important to remember Oakley positions itself as a premium brand (whether you think it is worth it or not is a whole 'nother matter). So you are certainly paying for the Oakley brand. From what I understand, they are certainly good watches, but may not have some of the quality components/movements of some other makes.

Thanks for the reply! They seemed a good deal at $200, even if the MSRP was inflated a tad. Ah, well, looks like some others scored on a good deal (they are sold out now)!
