What is the expected released date? Does anyone know?
LCR: Gedlee Abbeys for LR and Nathan for Center Surround & rear 4 x Sho10's
Subs: 4 x 18.2
Electronics: Marantz SR7002, Acurus 200x3 (LCR), PS3, HTPC, CDP300, Mits HC1500, Elite Peregrine 2.35 156" Acousticpro4k
I sure hope they cleaned these up. The first set on Blu-ray was very disappointing.
In many cases, the HDTV copies pushing a decade old had better PQ.

Last I had heard, they were holding these until after the Hobbit released, so I wasn't sure if there was new info out there...

Funny, I thought the first set on Blu-ray was pretty good. FOTR wasn't great, but TTT and ROTK were noticeably improved over the DVDs. The only really crappy parts were the movies themselves. :D
(I'm a huge fan of the LOTR novel, not a big fan of the movies.)
The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy
(Extended Edition + Digital Copy) [Blu-ray] Amazon
MSRP: $120
3/5/11: $84

I wonder if these will just be the movie or have all that extra stuff the DVD's did. On a related note, I HATE it when the companies do the "Combo Pack" and add a digital copy and a DVD I will never use and raise the price. Just give me the Blu-Ray and call it a day.

FOTR was a mess, TTT was better but still had DNR, and ROTK was very good.
There's just no excuse for not doing this right. Especially a second go-around... fingers crossed.
