    **this is not a promotion**

This place is outside Vegas about an hour.

My brother and dad are wrapping up their 2nd trip. I'm probably going to go next year. Just have to find a safe for the gun you get for going to appease the wife.

My brother just did well enough to get invited to the tactical training next year...

You guys ever heard of it?

Dont have time to sit and read the whole site but...... sure looks like a bunch of BS from a snake oil salesman????

Really some of it is absolute BS, and my CPL gets me Reciprocity in 37 states

Oh and how does the whole free gun thing work, they just cant give it to you to take home with you, it has to be transferred to a FFL dealer in your state

Haha, yeah I was going to put a disclaimer in there saying it may seem like a bunch of ****, but my dad is a fairly good businessman and has been down there twice and says it is legit.

He did get a bunch of 1/2 off things from some promotional thing years ago; though.

My brother just PMd me "I can now put 2 in a targets eyes at 15 yards in 2.5 seconds" - he got qualified to do the tactical one down the road.

The gun has to be transferred to a gun dealer in your area to be picked up. No charges involved that I have heard of.....the guns come with any paid 4 day or longer course...

I'll see what my brother ends up getting...I think he wants the .45.

I don't see how it could hurt, except the pocketbook maybe!

I strongly feel that gun ownership should be tied directly to training, no one should own a gun without knowing how and when to use it.

PS, tell your brother the .45 is a great choice.

Dr.Ignatius Piazza. Doctor of what ?

I like this quote: "My routine included dry practicing with the handgun, shotgun, rifle, and submachine gun for three-to-four hours each day, Monday through Friday and then renting a shooting range all day Saturday to practice live-fire drills." It seems like a lot of trouble for 3 or 4 yahoos that passed through you neighborhood and shot up some stuff in 1988. And who never came back anyway :biglaugh:.

Mr brother ended up getting the 9mm. He said most people can't shoot the .45 as well, him included. Plus the 9 is easier to conceal/carry.

He said the course was pretty awesome and taught by all ex military or police special forces. He didn't see the "Dr" anywhere though! :doh! 1:

I believe once you get the feel for the .45 I believe you can do as well if not better than the 9. This has been my experience anyway. A friend of mine has a Springfield 1911A and when I first shot it years back I was intimidated as hell by it.

Several years later, and many hundreds of rounds, I was quite capable with it even though I hadn't shot it in probably five or more years. All my handguns are CC type, .380, 38 SPL etc, so I'm going from pretty small to pretty big. Interestingly enough my dad picked up a 9mm Springfield XD last year and to me it shoots and feels very similar to the 1911A mentioned above, I like it a lot!

Same friend with the 1911A has access to a Dan Wesson custom "Dirty Harry" long barrel revolver. He brought it to the outdoor range on one of outings. That is a gun that isn't for everyone, but it was fun to shoot.
