    Howdy Gang,

I thought I'd share a nice little thing I discovered this week. Actually it's two things. First is a neat new little show called "Legend of the Seeker" which is modeled after Terry Goodkind's "Wizard's First Rule" series. I'm a bit of a Scifi/Fantasy geek, so I love that stuff, and I stubled across this series when a friend pointed it out. It's only on WGN, a station out of Chicago, but they host their full episodes on their Website at www.legendoftheseeker.com

I checked out the 2 episodes is it was decent. Good story, and if you've read the books, it's fun to follow along. What is really cool though is that I was able to browse to the website on my PS3, and watch the episodes on full screen on my PS3 through the web browser. Now that my friends, it dang cool. It actually looks pretty darn good, and I didn't have any hitching or artifacts. Sure it's not HD, but it's pretty good for streaming. Pretty sure HULU is serving it up, so the bandwidth is there.

Anyhow, just wanted to share this. Was a neat little revelation that you can just watch these movies from their website in my nice home theater.

    Give it a try.

Just wanted to point out--since I'm a bit of a nerd and find it interesting--this show is NOT only on WGN =P

It's actually the first U.S. syndicated first-run television program in a few years (outside of game shows and talk shows, that is). In my market (and apparently most others) it actually airs on the local CW affiliate.

The show is from basically the same creative/production team as the Hercules and Xena shows, including Sam Raimi as Executive Producer (who you may know from Evil Dead and the Spiderman series). It even looks a bit like those shows, as all three are/were filmed in New Zealand. The first season is supposed to loosely follow the storyline of the first book, but with plenty of extra storylines added in order to fill a 22-episode season. The production budget is $1.5million per episode, which is pretty high for a syndicated show, but the ratings have been decent and enough affiliates were interested, so the show was renewed for a second season.

    Anyway. Decent show.

Ah, I stand corrected. I did think it was odd that only WGN was carrying it..makes much more sense. And I agree, it does feel like Xena a bit.

And anything that comes from Evil Dead can't be a bad thing...I mean, with a quote like "Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun" how can you go wrong?
