Hard cider is decent (if it is Strongbow or something)...good change when we were in London from all the Ale....
1664 Kronenburg and London Pride were 2 amazing ones I wish we had here.
And yep, we are trying the boxed wine...we are kind of snooty wine drinkers but checkin' them out....some aren't that bad...-Greg

You snooty wine drinkers!
What's up with that? I typically buy good deals I get on bottled wine in the $10 -$15 range, leaning heavily to the lower side whenever possible. My wife is in search of a red wine that isn't quite so bitter. So far it RedTree and Jargon have been among the better ones, but still not exactly what she is looking for. What price range classifies as snooty?
We bought some box wine years ago, and yeah it was not bad.
I'm glad I like the simple things....cold beer and Tennessee Whiskey.

I love really hoppy beer. A good oatmeal stout, too.
Get yourself a Vinturi aerator if you don't already have one. It will help the boxed wine. A struggle to use with a box, but worth it.LG 60PS60/BD390/Integra DTR-6.9/RS850/RS450/200/RS300/MFWx2

We bought the vinturi's last month. One for red, one for white. Though I'm guessing they are both the same....
They really do help a <$10 wine. Open it up, pour it through, really brings out the flavors. I still decant our "snooty" wine.
I'm not sure, but I would consider most wines north of $20 in the snooty class...We belong to some wine clubs that are about $40-50 each, but these are things we are aging like Cab, Petite Sirah, etc.
Probably isn't worth it. :peeping:-Greg

I tried a $200 bottle of wine and was not all that impressed. 2006 Cardinale (a gift). We let it breathe for a couple of hours before drinking. Tried it at room temp and a little cooler. Didn't taste bad, just not worth the $$.
I favored the $3/bottle Pacific Peak Merlot. It doesn't even show a year on the bottle. Wish I'd bought more than a case of that one.
I tend to stay under $30/bottle as well. There was a 2005 Yellow Tail Merlot that was pretty tasty too. Years since haven't seemed to be as good.LG 60PS60/BD390/Integra DTR-6.9/RS850/RS450/200/RS300/MFWx2

Generally, a $20-40 bottle of wine will 9/10 be better than a $5 bottle. I'm talking about stuff you might get online from a napa vineyard, etc..not neccesarily going to your supermarket and picking a $40 bottle there of something you don't know the origin.
But yeah, I've had $4 yellow tail that I vinturied and swore it was $40.
We get wine from August Vineyards (a Nebraskan owner) and Vincent Arroyo; both in napa.
There cab/pinot/petite sirah all are north of $30, and all very worth it most years!
Man, love wine.-Greg
