  • How do I wire up my 18T's?

    Sorry for the noob question.

I assume that one main subwoofer cable goes from the reciever pre out to the amp, then the amp is connected to the 2 subs, yes?

    Thanks

That is correct - Subwoofer output to the Dayton amp via RCA cable, then speaker wires from Amp to each enclosure (each of which has an 18 inch driver).

The Dayton amp even has two sets of speaker terminal on the back, making this simple. :)

I'd like to follow up with another noob question in the same vein. :) Since the 2 subs are carrying a 4ohm load will my 14gauge wire be enough for a 15 foot run, seems like it should.(I hope)

I've seen people reply with this figure repeatedly on this question....

Keep in mind that, with two cabinets hooked to the SA1000, the AMP is seeing a 4 ohm load, but each individual speaker wire run is dealing with an 8 ohm load, not a 4 ohm load. Your 14 gauge wire is just fine. :)
