Just a quick note to let everyone know Bestbuy B&M stores are selling off the Sony KDL-60EX500 for $1,199. This unit sells on occasion at Fry's for $1,299. I was able to get an Open Box one for $1,080 today in Durham, NC.

Amazon is selling this set for $1,700+ right now.

I researched the heck out of my recent HDTV purchase. The only thing that kept me from the EX500 series was the price, looks like they really dropped down. That is is a great TV at a great price.

I can still take my purchase back and get this one instead...

You are correct, but if you call the store and ask what the in store price is they will tell you $1,199. I called over 20 stores tracking one down.

Now all I "need" is a 3-5 channel amp that is no deeper than 17" to fit in my cabinet and I will be "done".

I drove 170 miles one way for mine. It was worth the time.
