How to shut off lap top

My wife's laptop won't shut down. I tried all the usual stuff. And unplugging it:rolleyes:. Do I have to pull the batteries? I don't even know how...

CTRL ALT Delete at the same time.

Just keep holding down the power button until it shuts down. That will normally force a shutdown.

I had tried the control-alt-del, didn't work. Holding down the power button worked! Thanks.

for future reference also find out where the battery is located and how to remove it. there are some trouble shooting steps that may require this. *just for future reference*

All we do is shut the unit upby closing the screen to the keyboard. Otherwise powering it up everytime takes at least 10 minutes to load up.
