....but man you got to have some stones to test it!

I saw these guys a year or two ago ... if I ever buy a table-saw, I'll be getting one of these. I have the scars on my right ring finger to prove it. Almost lost a finger when I was a toddler playing around where I was told not to. Miraculously they were able to reattach and all that you can tell is visual scaring down the whole finger. I'm a believer in the need for such awesome safety technology!

      That was really awesome!

Still puts chills down my spine even though I KNEW they wouldn't have shown it if he cut off his finger.

That was hard to watch. Since it destroys the saw blade and probably the motor to boot, I'd be worried about it going off accidentially. Perfect for shop class though.

Impressive! They say all the energy is absorbed by the softstop module and the blade...

A friend has one, has had it for almost 2yrs now and has never had the thing go off accidentally. It will DESTROY the blade but thats it. The modules are cheap, for some reason I think $30 or so..... he keeps one in stock just in case.

We have one of those where I work - it's never been tested, luckily.

Good saw blades are expensive, but cheaper than an ER copay or emergency surgery for sure! That said, even knowing that it would work, I sure wouldn't have stuck my finger on it like the guy in the video. that was uncomfortable to watch.
