You don't see that many realistic paintings anymore what with photography and all that. Your wife captures something and is quite talented. Of course, you knew that...

Gorgeous art...that second one is striking to my eye. Your wife has tremendous talent that I thought had disappeared. Congratulations!

Being from Texas, I should know more about SA but really don't! I can say the food on the Riverwalk isn't great but it is perfect for drinks, the Alamo is worth going to, and there are some amazing restaurants just off of downtown that you need to seek out. I will try to find a recommendation or two but if not, ask your hotel for something a little more "local" and you will do fine.

I really like to walk around downtown Boerne, but it is pretty low key if you like that kind of thing: http://www.visitboerne.org/ We love the hill country, small Texas town feel. Really nice...

I really love going up to Austin if I am in the area, about an hour north on I-35. The downtown/6th Street/Capital area is way cool with tons of restaurants, shops, and clubs...much like the Berkeley of Texas, if you will. http://www.6street.com/ If that isn't your bag o' fun, you may want to pass on it. Keep Austin Weird is there slogan: 80 square miles surrounded by reality, as we like to say here in Texas.

well welcome to San Antonio :goodvibes:
depending on what you and the Mrs want to do or see.
You could take a boat tour of the newly expanded river walk then take in the sites of the river walk small pubs, places to eat and shops may be a bit pricey tourist attraction and all that stuff. :greedy:
You could do historic and see the Alamo dont forget the Missions of San Antonio.
you could do Sea World or Fiesta Texas theme parks
The Art McNay art museum, Botanical Gardens, Zoo.
but remember, no matter how plastered one may get Taco Cabana and /or taco Bell does not equal Authentic Mexican food.
If i think of more things to do or go see i'll post it here.
So congratulations to the Mrs. come down have a wonderful time
            and bienvenidos a San Antonio.

Cindy and I thank you for your wonderful compliments. I am of course extremely biased but she truly is an amazing artist.

Ed, thank you for your first hand knowlege on what San Antonio has to offer us while we are there. I hope that more Texans chime in on what to do in San Antonio.

I am sure we will see the Alamo and the missions and art museums. Recently moving from Pennsylvania to Colorado I have an appreciation of fine microbreweries and thier unique tasting beers. Any recommendations on any good beers I should try?

Not to knowledgable on beer brands but the
Fredericksburg Brewing Company in Fredericksburg tx about 40 min from san antonio a buddy of mine goes with his wife on shopping trips there small town shops
he says the beer there is good. Shiner Boch Beer but m pretty sure you can get that in your city.
I dont think there are any specific to San Antonio or at least if there are i haven't heard of any.
San Antonio isn't on the same level as Pennsylvania, Boston, LA, New York, but it is a place where you can look someone in the eye smile and say hello and not be thought of as weird:whoopie:
Im sure some people at the place youll be will give you more places to see and do while you are here.
And this biased stuff doesn't fly, when she is good she is good.:rock:
