I watched the first one with some friends many years ago. All of us were under the influence of some hallucinogenics. We liked the movie:yes:...

LOVED Tron as a kid, back in the day when I lived at the arcade.
Introduced my daughter to Tron a few weeks ago. She liked it, but was a bit confused by the lingo. All this tech today and it seems that the "kids" with all the gadgets don't know their computer history very well. It all seems to get taken for granted.

          end of line...

+3 on feeling old. I was in 10th grade when the original came out. It's still one of my top ten favorite movies of all time. I can hardly wait the nine months until the new one comes out.

Look at how far computer graphics has come in the nearly 30 years since the original Tron!

I watched the anniversary edition DVD about a year ago, surprisingly a lot of bass in the flick. It (the original) still is a fun movie, but it is definitely showing its age.

Well not many many years ago... buuuut something similar may or may not have happened involving friends, hallucinogenic/dissociative chemicals and this particular movie.. and yes we did enjoy it as well.. till we all agreed that we were being "downloaded" at which point in time we collective freaked out, went for a nature walk, thought we were being stalked by bears, couldn't cross a stream 3 inches deep and 2 feet across, got lost in a forest, had "flash backs to 'nam", got chased by bike cops, came across group of very very old bikers who asked us if we wanted to get high with them (which we of course did), which led to being lost in another forest, my best friend puking all over the penny candy section in a 711, getting lost in an ikea, not knowing how we got to said ikea, buying a large amount of wood and nails from a home depot to build a silo underground so we could "grow pot, smoke it, party and no one would know cause we're underground", leaving said wood and nails scattered around a best buy parking lot, hijacking the best buy theater room just because we needed a place to chill and all of us proceeding to pass out and then get hauled out by security, proceeding to a strip club (at now about 3pm on a tuesday afternoon), getting kicked out of the strip club for telling the strippers that their penis's were too small (chicks on stage), chased by more bike cops, watching a random soccer game at an elementary school while sitting in trees smoking pot and throwing pine cones at the teachers and parents and cheering on "pele"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pel%C3%A9), getting chased by real cops (bike cops just dont seem like the real deal), got lost in another forest, ate some shrooms and got chased by bat monkeys with alf's head, watched my friend have a chat with jesus in the desert, ate some ice cream (was realllly good), went to a pool hall and realized I could see the angles and proceed to stomp everyone in the joint, got drunk and we picked up a table of very attractive older women (cell phone pic proved this to be false, they were not attractive and not old *shudder*), wandered around some more and ended up back at my friends house, realized we lost one of the group, didnt care we lost one, did beer bongs and watched episodes of aqua teen hunger force, realized we understood ATHF, realized we were still high, ended up lost in woods again, woke up without pants on my friends front lawn sitting in an inner tube with people looking at me funny.... ummmm where was i going with this?

*edit* friend we lost was sleeping on the couch the next morning, said he discovered the meaning of life and how the universe worked, said it had everything to do with triangles but wouldn't tell us anymore, said we had to talk first consult the keeper before we could learn the true meaning... whatever the hell that means...

Since nobody could possibly follow up that post with anything worthy I'll just chime in and say WOW!

Oh yeah, I finally opened up my Logan's Run DVD that I bought years ago and watched it right before Christmas. Man that movie really shows it's age but as mentioned a lot of the viewing was easy on the eyes.

Never saw the original (I was -1 years old when it came out) but I am really excited about this. It makes me want to watch the original for the back story, and it has Jeff Bridges who is generally amazing, so even if the effects are dated, hopefully the acting will still be fresh.

Also... HOLY CRAP THAT IS COOL AS HELL THAT THEY GOT JEFF BRIDGES FOR THE NEW ONE!

Me thinks Matt is in need of his own custom title after that post :stirthepot:

Also of note we may or may not have played a real game of tertis with cinder blocks and blocked in someones car, and covered a friend in 2 pounds of craft singles *which then melted and stuck to his face and stomach and stayed there for 10 hours while he slept*... (dunno why we used craft singles, cheez whiz would have worked perfectly well, totally didnt work for the sammiches we made later though)..
