      I don't think non-medical grade silicone is quite the right material to inject under the skin. It also calls into question how sterile everything used might have been.

      I believe most tile and tub caulk has mold and mildew inhibitors so there's probably quite a difference between non-medical grade and tub and tile caulk. Years ago it was arsenic that was added, and I remember reading about a family that was getting poisoned and it was traced to silicone w/arsenic used to repair a dishwasher. Today, I'm not sure what is added, maybe Microban.

      I've built quite a few aquariums and you need to use silicone with no additives made for that specific purpose to be sure nothing leeches out into the tank.

      If the picture showed aquarium sealant in the caulking gun or the article mentioned it instead of tub caulk it would have been more accurate.
