Anybody picking this up for the PC?

I've sort of stopped gaming over the last year or so but I am looking forward to this one. I never got into the MW or MW2 games because I get bored with all the infantry only scene. I also like the larger maps too.

Well it's getting good reviews. One 360 review gave it a 81 for lacking single player.

I likely won't even mess with the single player portion much if at all. In contrast that's about the only thing I cared for in MW so I guess to each his own. To me the BF series is all about multiplayer, I'm just hoping this is good enough to hold us over for BF3.

Well it's not Squad TCA but a group of people I've been gaming with for years, way back to the Counter Strike days has remained together for quite some time now and we communicate on our own a small forum. It's sort of like here where pretty much anything goes....lots of ribbing each other, foul language etc but its all good natured. I haven't been playing as much lately but they have been on L4D and L4D2 and MW and MW2 a lot lately. If your just looking for a group to game with on a routine basis for teamwork/familiarity sake send me a PM and I will reply with the details.

Been playing most of the day... it's damn hard ;) I feel like a newbie, and I consider myself a fairly decent FPS guy.

Are the maps smaller than in BF2?

I've read they are smaller but not as small as MW

Smaller but still pretty big to me... I was playing some 32 man instances and you could go a ways before seeing someone. I like the squad spawn system though.

I'm gonna order it for PS3 over at Amazon and get the $20 credit towards my next game purchase. I like what I've read about it. I get creamed at Uncharted 2 and MW2 online. I get dumped into a pool with other newbies aned casual players and get matched up against teams with much more experience and upgrades. There are guys who have thousands of hours of playing time. Why do these guys play on easy against noobs anyways? It has to get old beating up on babies. Where is the challenge?

BBC2 supposedly has better team setup.

Yep the squad spawn spoiled me in BF2. It's so much better than having to run across the whole map and catch up with your team.

I guess some people would rather win than be challenged Pwman! I guess it the same reason so many players hack games. I agree though, why bother?

I will say Multiplayer was really borked last night... server browser was failing, you'd get randomly booted from servers for no reason, etc; I saw people who where level 9 already and I have no idea how they got there.

Single player has been pretty fun though!
