  • Alphaiii's Haitian Relief Fund Thread ... Please look !

Alphaiii has an extra Gizmo V1.0 in his possession, and decided to auction it off with the purpose of raising money for Haiti in mind.

Please take the time to check out the thread here:

Can we raise $5500 form a single Gizmo ?

Hey Craig: saw your "disappointed" WRT to the Gizmo auction. Please don't take the lack of activity there in that vein.

Can't speak for everyone, but we have donated a lot of $, and several friends have donated time where they can't afford the money.

We have a friend working for Partners in Health, and she is putting in 70+ hour weeks to help.

Bottom line, there's a lot of great folks donating, it just may not have been via this thread/auction.

Just didn't want you to be so disappointed.....
What if the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about?!

    Kinky Tom!

Yeah honestly I completely missed the auction... not sure how. Pity, I could have donated through Aetna and had them match me dollar for dollar.

I'm all for the fundraising and donating, but this happened after I had already done so. My wife is the Key Club advisor at the local high school and we organized a fundraiding drive through that and Kiwanis, the sponsor organization for Key Club. I hope everybody will find it in their heart (and budget) to do what they can. It occurs to me now that I should have been active in at least supporting the auction here even if I had already donated. For that, I apologize.

Just don't want you to think we're all a bunch of heartless jerks... "thumbsup:

ING just phoned per my request for information on whether or not they would be matching our donation. Unfortunately they maxed out their goal in two days. So the donation to the Red Cross from TCA is 4400 US $. Which is still a pretty darned good return on one Gizmo:woo:.

I will post the Red Cross receipt when I receive it, probably the first or second week of March. I have received Craig's contribution. Thanks Craig! And the word from Frank is that the Gizmo is on it's way...

Well, $4400 is still a damn nice contribution... So kudos to you and Craig for making it happen!

And yes, the Gizmo is on it's way... just a little slow on the takeoff...

Either my scanner doesn't work or I'm too dumb to use it. In any event here is a picture of the Red Cross receipt I received today."thumbsup:
