  • New Laptop Bag

I'm looking to get a good quality laptop back for work. I'm sick of the cheap-o bag I have now plus it's falling apart. I like what I've seen of the WaterField Design Medium Cargo. It's not at all cheap, but I am aware that sometimes you get what you pay for. Though I'd probably like to spend less. My work laptop currently is a 14.1" non-widescreen system. My current bag is 16" x 12" x 5" and I feel it's a good size. I wouldn't want something much larger.

Any suggestions for some other good quality similar style bags style I should look at?

I tried the lowepro m series on amazon clearance to fill a need but was very pleasantly surprised at how great it is. I will drop a link once back on a real computer but there are two models for around $15 down from $60. Do you need radio shielded? These don't have that feature but otherwise I can't imagine a significantly better bag

No, I don't need a radio shielded bag. I'm not even quite sure what that is.

I do see that the Lowepro Messenger Factor M is quite inexpensive.

Also look at the Brenthavens.... Plenty of storage, holds my 17" MBP, and the quality is nothing short of phenomenal... I've got this one and swear by it....

So this is the one I ended up with for $15 shipped and it has gone up sligthly to $17 or so. And the radio shield is just if you want to make sure no one can snoop on your computer via wifi. Not a huge factor for me but for some perhaps.

I have had a US Luggage SOLO Nylon bag that has traveled effortlessly and holds what I need. It's design was well tought out and my laptop is protected by an inner pull out padded bag. My wife has used it too and loves it. It can be purchased for around $30

It is on sale here ->

                        Those look nice...

I'm still torn between the inexpensive $30-40 level bags and the really nice ones that cost $200'ish.

Check out the messenger bags here, maybe then the $200 ones won't seem so expensive by comparison! :sly:

Well yeah, you're going to need to be able to color coordinate with what you are wearing that day.
