  • Nine Inch Nails

I saw Nine Inch Nails this past Friday at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. All cameras were allowed as long as the camera and lens were less than 24" long. I brought along my D90, 18-105 and 50mm f1.8 and end up being on the rail stage left. It was an amazing show, they really gave their all.

Some of the pics I took. The entire set is here.

    Great pics.
My friend was at that show, but I haven't heard from him yet.
That same friend has seen NIN with me at Lollapalooza near Chicago (long ago) and in LaCrosse.
He also introduced me to NIN as a new group when I was a freshman in college.
    Very cool.

    Thanks.

I'd love to see NIN in concert! Trent's music is among the most unique of these last two decades! Great pics, btw.

Better do it quick as this is NIN's final tour.....and for some reason I actually believe that since Trent says he is retiring...he actually will unlike many others.

            I didn't know that either. That's a big bummer...

Well, I'll see if/when they'll be around my area...

Yeah he is doing a tour of small clubs.....like 1,000 person places....He played in NYC and played the entire Downward Spiral album in order. If you can get tickets I think you will be in for a real treat.

I couldn't get em or I would have been there on Friday at the aragon ballroom.

Thanks guys. The Aragaon had around 4K people in it, one of the NY shows was in front of 500 people. That would have been insane.

All that is left is four shows in LA then he retires from touring. He said he will continue to make music.

                  Great shots.

I saw NIN a couple of years ago, easily one of the best shows I ever seen. The DVD that came out a few years ago rocks the old home theater as well, highly recommended if your a fan. Unfortunately, bought it in HD-DVD.

I have the BR of that concert. It is both an audio and visual demo disc and by far my most watched BR.

They had professional HD cameras at the show and I've read the NY shows were also professionally taped. Hopefully they made a concert BR out of this tour. Since cameras were allowed there are plenty of users videos on youtube. Just search "nine inch nails aragon" or new york.

Yeah....I have seen them i think 4 times....the best one I remember the most was Lollapalooza 1 back in 1991 at World music theater in Tinley Park, IL.....it was freaking crazy watching him destroy the whole stage and shoving his guitarist into the crowd...it was awesome.

I'll have to check out that BluRay disc, thanks for the mention.

I remember "back in the day" I went to see a Jesus & Mary Chain concert in Boston. The opening band wasn't even announced by name IIRC, or if they were I hadn't heard of them.

NiN proceeded to blow us away, to the point that the Shoe-Gazing of J&MC almost caused us to leave early. My friend Steve and I rushed over to Tower records, and met up with about 5 or 6 other folks from the same concert, grabbing the last of stock of the NiN first CD.

An amazing introduction. Saw them again for the same tour, haven't seen them live since unfortunately.
What if the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about?!

                          Kinky Tom!
