What a great day in college football!

Michigan State lost in the last seconds, Notre Lame lost in the final seconds to Michigan (GO BLUE!) and to cap it off, Ohio State lost at the end as well!

Sorry Matt, can't share your joy at Ohio State losing. What a bummer. But we let them hang around when we should have scored touchdowns. And letting them convert 3 of 4 fourth and one situations is unforgiveable. The worst is now we have to hear that OSU is "weak" instead of "it was a great game between worthy opponents where USC prevailed."

But they are WEAK, physically and mentally. They can not control the line of scrimmage on short yardage plays, their best offensive play is the punt, and they are afraid to take any risks that would give them a chance to win. You can not win in modern football on defense and punting, not in college nor in the NFL. They also have an over rated QB prospect who is a round peg being hammered in to a square hole. TP chose the wrong system to play in and Tressel chose the wrong QB for his system. I am not sure what either of them were thinking.

I would have to imagine the inability to win big games and the reputation they have received over the last few years is going to start to wear on the AD, as well as on recruits. But hey, at least they are better than ND! Charlie Weiss should get fired on Monday. His team was sloppy (too many penalties), he cost them several times with his inability to get a play in in time (wasted time outs and delay of game penalties), and then when he had a chance to run down the clock with his much bigger offensive line and decent run game he goes to the air and stops the clock. WTF? You don't hand a fairly efficient Michigan offense a golden opportunity with over two minutes, two timeouts and good field position. Seriously, high school coaches don't do crap like that.

Although being from MS, I guess I should pull for MSU, especially since they played Awebum. But, ya know, I really enjoy watching the bullpups getting the wood put to them.

I'm sure you enjoyed it too, Price. Hope you got everything set up with the HT before the guests arrived. Enjoy your new home. I hope the Rebels don't play like that on the Plains this year!

Did you even wathc the game? The OSU D-line played great. They didn't stop several 3rd/4th and 1 foot plays, but how many times have you seen a QB sneak for a half-yard get stopped by anyone?

Offensively, they had a lot of creativity in the playcalling and approach. USC just happens to play really, really good defense.

That same system seemed to work out fairly well for Troy Smith just a few years ago. I don't think there is a system/fit problem. As for Pryor being overrated; we'll see. He's already improved a lot in his throwing motion from his freshman to his sophomore year. He's not looking like John Elway yet, but I'm not ready to write him off.

True. As a fan and season-ticket holder, I'd much rather see that game even with a 3-point loss than see a 30-point win over St. Nowhere St. It was a fun game to watch. Sad that we lost, but that's life.

Did you notice which quarterback USC was using? And do you remember why? :fryingpan:
