I was logged into macrumors during the address. I kind of figured apple would have the video up by now but they don't.
I was mainly interested in the iphone news, and I gotta say I'm very underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, there's some nice stuff....maybe they just set the bar so high the last couple years.
I'm stoked to get Snow Leopard, and I love the pricing.....
The upgrades to the screens (especially for the 13") will be nice, but I won't be getting a new laptop as I just got this one in Nov. Oh, and I like what they did with the battery.
However....AT&T blows bigtime. MMS won't work right away just because they need to go in and remove a line item in each of our accounts?? WTF...they've known about this for a while now. And the rumor is that they're gonna charge an extra $40 for tethering?? Man, I'm jailbroken and am tethering now and STILL don't go over the 5 gb limit. I think they should only upcharge IF you go over 5gb. L.A.M.E.
I don't care if I have thousands of rollover minutes.....as soon as Verizon or someone else gets the iphone I'm gone....Never Argue With An idiot. They'll Lower You To Their Level And Then Beat You With Experience!

I've always thought that ATT was lame. Still using a hokey phone with Verizon. But then again, Verizon is lame in its own way with their phone handicaps.

Well, just finished watching the whole keynote address.
I think the thing I'm most excited about is the Tom Tom app. The iphone did get a performance bump, but I don't see a real compelling reason for most to dump their 3G.
I bet the next iteration will be slick though. An OLED screen would be cool.Never Argue With An idiot. They'll Lower You To Their Level And Then Beat You With Experience!

I guess that Apple thought there wasn't a compelling enough reason to dump the 3G iPhone either, thus the reason why they are still keeping the 8GB on at $99.
I think that's a smart move. Instead of phasing out the "old" technology completely like Apple is pretty renowned to do, leaving previous owners kind of in the dust, they keep it available at a reduced price for those who want to get into the market for not a whole lot of money. Those who still own the "last years model" can get it replaced easily enough, too.
I can't imagine how much the cost of the system would be if it did incorporate the OLED screen. Considering that the iPhone screen is nearly half of the size of the current Sony OLED monitor and that runs for, what, $2500? I can't imagine it being too viable to have as a iPhone screen yet. Maybe, though. I have been wrong and Apple's definitely one to have proven me wrong! :)

It's just like what they did with the white macbook.....kept it instead of phasing it out.
I read about a phone somewhere that has an oled on it already. I'd be *very* shocked if it doesn't have one next year. Small OLED's are around more than you know, and are even on super budget $50 mp3 players-granted they are tiny and not full color.
I can't believe the rumors that AT&T is gonna charge $40 extra to tether. Total BS.....Never Argue With An idiot. They'll Lower You To Their Level And Then Beat You With Experience!
