    I'm curious as to why they used WAV over the compressed lossless formats, though.

    The testing methodoly is a bit shaky. Using Foobar2000 with the ABX plugin would be a far more useful method to determine at what bitrate the files go transparent.

          I don't think using programs are the points though... it's just a subjective test of how human ears work. The correct answer would probably be "It depends who the listener is", but I think the author is just curious what the population (Gizmodo readers) that can tell the difference between lossless and MP3 bitrates with their own ears
