Need firewood advice - lichen or ?

Looking for some advice.....

We had a bunch of Maples, and one Oak, that we had cut down last year. Many of them had what I THINK is Lichen, or maybe some other fungus, on them. We cut it up and let sit and dry out for firewood.

The trees did fine growing, they weren't dying. We were just trimming things for better light on th elawn and less moisture near the house.

So in any case, wanted to see if anyone knows if it is any health risk to burn them as firewood.

Any expert opinions?

I'm not an expert but I think it would be fine to burn.

With all th lying timber in the woods people go in to cut up for firewood no one really knows why the tree died and fell over.......now do we ?

we just accept it and burn it.

Living in the Pacific Northwest All our wood looks like this. Not a problem other than the mess just let it dry good and burn away,no worries.
