  • WB Red2Blu Program

Found this over at the Axiom forum. Was able to upgrade a couple of mine. I have more I would like to upgrade but, apparently, they have not been released on Blu-ray yet.

Upgrade your Warner Brothers HD DVDs to Blu-ray

That's pretty nifty. I almost went with hddvd a while back but held out. I'm generally an anti-sony guy, but in the end the superior product (from a technical standpoint) won I guess.

They need to get on the ball though about lowering the prices. HD streaming and downloads with surpass them soon if they don't.

      Good idea on WB's part.

Just wondering outloud but is it cheaper to buy a clearanced HD-DVD, whether you own an HD-DVD player or not, for 4.44 on amazon and then do the Red2Blu versus buying the bluray? Batman begins for example 4.44 HDDVD+ 4.95 B2R + 6.95 Shipping. On 2nd though maybe that is a too much work for little savings.

If you bought more than one, the shipping would be spread over the lot and it becomes more worthwhile. Not that I'd go through the trouble, but lots of people won't see it that way.

I do plan to take advantage of the offer for some of my titles.

          I'm interested...

I'm a little miffed that they don't have The Complete Matrix Trilogy Boxset ot The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions discs on the list though. They will take The Matrix and The Ultimate Matrix Collection, but if you bought the non Ultimate boxset or the movies loose, you're stuck with the last two on HD-DVD.

Also, unfortunately the HD-DVD I have of Training Day (bought used) didn't come with the real jacket. It's a computer printout, so I most likely can't trade it in either. :(

I have about 40 of those titles I guess I have to narrow it down a bit as they only let you do 25 titles. Good of WB to do this, too bad they are about a year late. WB was really on my sh*tlist last year as they were the ones that ended the format war, unfortunately they picked the wrong format. :boom:
Yes I'm still bitter and miss the format war. :crying:
