  • Off-Center Center Speaker

I am needing an inverter for a Asus laptop computer. I see that there are modified and pure sine wave inverters on the market. In reading some reviews of different inverters, it seems that some electronics are touchy using the cheaper modified sine wave inverters, meaning sometimes the device you wish to use may not work at all.

So, I'm asking the esteemed audio community here if I should bite the bullet and get like a 300/600 watt rms/peak or so, pure sine wave inverter instead of the cheaper modified ones?

I had a friend say he saved the price of his inverter by just using the factory a/c cord that came with his gps, different cell phones, dvd players, etc., instead of buying all the different 12v car chargers.

What say you guys :no clue:

An inverter is an electrical device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC); the resulting AC can be at any required voltage and frequency with the use of appropriate transformers, switching, and control circuits.

Thought maybe no one knew what an inverter was, since no one replied:jiggy:

I ended up just trying to be safe and ordered a 300/600 watt pure sine wave inverter from donrowe.com. If this works great I may get a 1000 watt or bigger inverter and just keep it for a backup for things at home, like refrig or freezer or something for use in an emergency.

I highly doubt it matters to the switching power supply for your laptop. Why pay the extra $$$ for a sine wave inverter?

          Off-Center Center Speaker

I'll be getting an A2 center speaker when the A5s ship. The A2 is too wide for the center speaker cubby in my (new) entertainment center :(. However, I can put it on an open shelf directly below the TV, but there is a support dead center. This means the side of the speaker will be in the center and the tweeter will be about 12" off center.

Will this be OK? Will it seem like the sounds are coming from the wrong place? I'd appreciate any insight into the problem. Thanks.

Will a center stage bracket work for you? http://www.centerstagebracket.com/1210.html
I'm using this for my A2 center channel since the A2 is too big/heavy for my TV stand. I'm using the 12x10 as recommended by Buford. The 12x6 works for his set-up.

I thought of something like that but it didn't pass the WAF.
