  • Nothing worse than seeing your kid in the hospital!

Man, I tell you... NOTHING is as bad as that. Daughter had a nasty fever and went in last Thursday. They thought it was an infection and that they had taken care of it. She goes home. 2 days later it's back and she's got swelling in her groin area, and they are talking about maybe she has a twisted ovary or something... I don't know. She's 7! Wife's freaking out, daughter's freaking out, they rush her into surgery. Turns out it was a cyst. They think it was caused by the infection from a cat scratch that travelled up her leg and lodged there somehow. Weirdness! She got a couple more days in after the surgery just to get things under control and then they sent her home with an open wound. We have to pack it with gauze a couple times a day :( They say it's the best way to let it heal and get all cleaned out.

    Bleh!

Oh man that is sad. I am glad it looks like its going to be OK. I am really sorry for your daughter as I can't imagine having that type of surgery at her age. I can't imagine the kind of stress it puts on parents either. You guys must be exhausted. Heck I once had to wait a few days to find out if my dog had cancer and it was agonizing and that is just a dog (although I don't treat him like one). My best wishes for you and your family in the meantime.

Yeah, honestly she's ok now other than she has that small open incission that we have to change the gauze on. They say it will be healed in another week. Thanks for all the good wishes, it was maddening!
