Ahhh spring...and not a minute too soon. It's been a long freaking winter!

    Are those pink dogwood blossoms?

Good stuff, Mike. Alabama is a beautiful place this time of year. Too bad our spring lasts about 2 weeks, though. :hissyfit:

        No, not a pink dogwood.

Here is a painted flowering tree.

...per plant.. different plants bloom at different times. Bradford Pears are blooming all OVER the place (beautiful white blossoms everywhere!)... but our Oriental Cherry Tree in our backyard hasn't even started budding yet... but when it does, OH MY ... we need Mike to come up and take a photo... Hundreds of THOUSANDS of pink blossoms absolutely cover our backyard ... from ONE tree... absolutely beautiful...

Forsythias are in bloom right now, but azaleas will be starting to come out soon also...

So it's not that "spring blooms" only last 2 weeks ... it's just that you have to know what plants bloom when, and stagger your landscaping with elements that bloom after one another rather than all simultaneously.. that way you can truly have a "spring-long spring-time" in your yard... (and the allergies to boot!)

          :)

I was talking more about the temps. You know, winter for two months, spring for two weeks, then summer until somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sorry for the thread jack, Mike.

oh-- my bad! I dunno, I don't really consider it to be "summer" until around mid-June through late-August... I still wear a jacket in June and early July..

'Course, I've lived in AL and GA all my life, so I'm pretty used to the hot weather.. COLD, on the other hand.... :nervous: me no like.. :crying:

Nope, not a magnolia tree....those trees always have their big green leaves.

Magnolia grandiflora have large evergreen leaves. There are tons of other, deciduous Magnolias, one of which is in your picture. Fuzzy buds, pinkish flowers, emerging leaves--signature Magnolia.

Northern Indiana here. I didnt know what a snow crocus was so i googled it.
I have been admiring a little patch of those in my yard as well. They come up in the same spot each year. Actually kind of pretty.

                              The look like this
