I recently installed Zone Alarm Pro as a firewall and I am slowly figuring out what processes to approve. However, I cannot figure out if rundll32.exe is good or bad or even necessary. What I can find by searching seems contradictory, ranging from it is necessary to it is a security risk. I would appreciate any help on deciding what to do with it. For now it is blocked, but that is only temporary. Thanks!

Thank you, Slushpuppy. The info is typical of what seems to be contradictory to me. But given the highlighted language, I think your point is that it does have valid uses and perhaps ones necessary to Windows. So I guess I will unblock it and hope that I did not leave a back door open for hackers.Randy
