  • Glad I found this forum

    Name is Leojo (Leo-Joe),

I am n the processor putting together a new HT system for the housewejust bought.I found a killer 5 speaker deal, but i needed a sub. After hoursandhours on avs I got to see that this "craigsub" guy really knows his stuff.

Then I find out that he has a company that makes subs and the rest is history.

    Glad to be here!

the two subs im looking at are:

            CS 10.2 and epik legend

Is it fair to compare these 2 subs (one is a dual 10 and the other dual 12)?

I really like the idea of the dual subs! and since they are opposite each other they "cancel" each other out.

my listening room is 2250 cuft and opens up to the kitchen.

With the 10.2 you cant really beat it at $400. I was also reading that the 10.2 is due for an upgrade soon? So I dont want to buy while im right on the cusp.

            thanks

The 10.2 will be replaced by a single 12" driver yet to be shown, but of equal output. It will be a higher cost when released, so take that into consideration. I've heard the 10.2 is quite a deal for the performance!

I just spoke with Jack about an ago. I called half not expecting him to pick up lol.

We chatted a bit and I have decided to get the 10.2! They are out of grills so I am going to order one and have them ship it when the grills come in.

the speakers I ordered just arrived...Atlantic Technology 2400 5spkr system. didn't come with a sub, and i think the 10.2 is going to be awesome! I'll make sure to post pics once i have everything set up.

I am probably also going to be asking for some help in tweaking it lol

I just bought the new onkyo 709 (on its way) and it has audyssey multi eq XT which ive read will help a lot, but i know tuning the subwoofer is very important.

Ive read its good to manually tune the sepakers and then run the auto programs.

                        lol too excited.

                              10.2 Arrived Monday!

I have the onkyo 709 which comes with Audyssey Multi XT.

We just bought a duplex so we do have a tenant that we dont want to piss off by having her house shake, that being said...is there a better way to calibrate the sub than using Audyssey?

I ran the calibration, and the system asks you to set the "volume" of the sub to 75DB.

I have the frequency nob set in the middle between where it says 40hz and the dot at the top of the arc. the gain is also set at about 15 degrees.

I can say it definitely beats the crap out of my old 8" cambridge soundworks sub (you cant even compare them) and it is very pretty actually. We have a nice plant on it. I will upload photos when i figure out how lol.

                              Any input is appreciated.
