  • Finally took the plunge

I've been reading and "lurking" on audio message boards since about 2003.

So, I finally broke the shyness & took the plunge.

Take it easy on me please "especially you heavy duty techno audio guru's" :grinning:

        Hi Inferno

Still trying to get all this message board stuff sorted out ... you know ... avatar, sig ... etc...

        I don't have a ht yet (I don't think a standalone TV counts).:crying:

        My old 2ch stuff list

        Preamp: Carver C-1
        CD Player: Sony SCD -CE595
        Tape Deck: Nakamichi ZX-9
        Turntable: Technics Direct Drive
        Tape Noise Reduction: DBX224
        Equalizer: Technics 1/3 octave SH-8065
        Power Amp: Carver M-400A
        Speakers: Mirage Omni 260 Floorstanders

Pretty darn happy with the sound of the system & am currently most interested in a pair of subs to flesh out the bottom end bass frequencies.

Hope I didn't make too many typo's ... where's the spell checker on this board?:no clue:

So glad you decided to move from "lurker" to "participant." A most hearty welcome, Tenn Ham.

If you are using Internet Explorer, I can recommend a program called ieSpell. It's a spyware-free, adware-free, cost-free (as in there is no charge) Internet Explorer add-on which just quietly sits on your IE toolbar and functions like the spell checker in Microsoft Word (see thumbnail below).

                    Tenn Ham,

It sounds like you have a great 2-channel system! I'm just getting into the world of audio and I think you are already light years ahead of me! So no worries about being new!

Funny, based on a post in another forum on an unrelated topic, I was just recalling in my high school youth going to a high end audio store in my home town and drooling over the Nakamichi Dragon series! I never realized the dream...and I'm glad you have the ZX-9!

Thanks for the free spellchecker link Ajax

Hmm ... some of you are old enough to remember some of the good audio stuff from the 80's era.

I lusted after the Nak Dragon tape deck too, but decided to save a few hundred bucks and go with the ZX-9, which was basically the same machine without the auto adjust
                      feature.

Happy easter, and if any of you find an egg with a pair of CS 10.2's in it, I'll wipe the yolk off and take the subs off your hands.:biglaugh:

I never realized that a spell checker was not part of the forum. I guess it must come standard when using Firefox and Chrome. Somebody has to tell Quad about this:D..
