  • Hi all

    Hello everyone,

I have been lurking here for a while and decided to join in the fun.
I noticed at least one fellow homebrewer and a lot of good info so here I am!

I started my home theater around this time last year.
All I am misisng now is the right subwoofer to fill my over 5500 ft3 area (the room opens into another and a hallway).

The empire is tempting due to the price and it would be a huge upgrade over what I have now (single Phase Technology 12) but I have decided not to buy anything until Craig releases the CS18.2 and we see what it can do.

    Cheers,

    Craig (my name too!)

      Hi Craig,

Welcome to the forum. We appreciate your interest in the 18.2 and your patience in waiting for its arrival. We think you'll find it's performance and price worth the wait. Thanks.

                Thanks to all.

My HT equipment consists of an Epson 6100 projector and a 112" home-built (DW Laminent) screen for the visual side.
Then we have a Marantz SR6003 Reciever, a PS3, some Phase Technology PC1's with PC Surrounds in Back and the FL12 sub I mentioned earlier.

I have been brewing for about 7 years and have been all-grain since Christmas '08 when I got my Boilermaker brewpot and rigged an Insulated Cooler Mashing.
Around that time I quit bottling and built a Kegerator loaded with 3 Corni Kegs :toast:.

I mostly make Heavy Ales or Belgian Triples :cloud9: in 10 gallon batches, and Mead in 5 gallon batches. Oh and 6 gallon batches of Riesling when the wife gets low.

                    Welcome to TCA.

                    Couple of housekeeping issues:

                    - can you put your gear in your signature
                    - we need pics (and preferably samples) of your homebrew!!! :jiggy::poke::begging:
                    - where do you live (can also add under "User CP"):jiggy:

I used to homebrew put sold all of my gear about 6 years ago.
I did one all grain (Oatmeal stout) brew and it took forever.
I didn't have as much advanced gear as you though...

I will edit my profile and try to get some pic's up soon, maybe when I get back home.

I am located just south of Memphis, Tn. if any of you guys are ever in the area I would love to share some homebrews with ya!

You know how brewing is I started with nothing, borrowed everything from friends and then after adding little by little now I'm the one lending out gear to the new guy.

Isn't that the truth! I haven't brewed in a (too) long while...work has been all consuming and my down time is spent listening to music or working out (oh, and some work around the house whenever the honey do list gets too long). Plus I have been devoting some whole weekends to the race track pretty regularly.

My equipment turned into a pretty cool set up due entirely to a friend who was a welder by profession. We built (together, as in he knew what he was doing but had me do the work which was a great learning experience and gives me lots more pride) a half barrel RIMS system. Three SS beer kegs, lots of 1/2 SS pipe and fittings, a nice circulation pump (sealed, of course), and plumbed for gas. I have it in my attic waiting for the day I can devote some space and time to the process again.

I assume you are using liquid yeast? Those smack packs are so easy and produce the best results!

Man it sounds like you have a very nice brewing set-up."thumbsup:
I hope you find time to enjoy it some this year.

                          Yes to the liquid yeast.

In most cases I will make a 1/2 gallon starter the day before I brew.
It takes a little planning but is well worth it to me to not take a chance on dumping a 10 gallon batch!
