  • Your Thoughts and Prayers Are Needed

We welcomed baby #2 yesterday. Valentina Rose was born at 12:23 pm. She weighed 8 lbs. 2.7 oz. and was 21.5 inches long.

As of 11:30 am today she has been in the special needs unit hooked up to heart and breathing monitors. She has been doing great eating and breathing, but for some reason as yet to be determined, she has moments where her oxygen levels drop which may be related to a murmur. I don't know what it is, how it happened or how many more tests she'll go through, but I do know my heart has never ached worse.

Please keep my little princess in your thoughts.

      Mike,

First off, congratulations on the new baby.

Next, I am sure you guys got the best physicians to look after her.

This reminds me when we had our 2nd boy, we had to leave him at the hospital by himself after our doctor released my wife to go home.
He had some complications and had to stay there for a week but NOW he's a stubborn big boy. :)

So, be patient and strong for both of them.

I can imagine how you feel. When our daughter was born last year, something came up in her bloodwork that was >99% chance a false positive. Even that <1% chance had me feeling a bit panicky until we had some more tests done.

I hope that your little one ends up alright.

                          Mike -

Pulling for your little one. Children have a remarkable ability to outgrow these initial health issues.

You and your wife need to be strong, know we're all rooting for you both as well as for the baby.

Agreed! And Children's Hospitals can do some amazing things for infants now.

But fwiw, here's another set of thoughts and prayers of good results for your daughter and strength for you and your wife.

                              take care,
